Supply Chain in Jeporady, Pacific NorthWest Region

GSC Logistics ∕ January

After a year-long stretch of reparations to the supply chain – post the initial phase of COVID-19- retailers were preparing for a strong comeback this year.

In the Inland Northwest Region, however, bare shelves returned in January due to truck driver shortages, severe weather conditions, record-high inflation rates, and concerned consumers over buying for their basic needs. To date, some more central states are still feeling the effects.

While coronavirus is mainly to blame, as the weather clears up, it’s apparent that the supply chain is still in jeopardy with record-high container shipping rates and the loss of drivers in the industry.
